Ark Energy's $1.3B Richmond Valley Solar Farm and Battery Project Advances in Australia
Ark Energy's Major Renewable Energy Project Advances in Australia
Ark Energy has reached a significant milestone in Australia's renewable energy landscape with the approval of the final investment decision (FID) for its AUD$1.3 billion Richmond Valley Solar Farm and Battery project.
The project, located in New South Wales, will consist of a 350 MW solar farm and a 150 MW/550 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
Key aspects of the project include:
- Total investment: AUD$1.3 billion
- Solar farm capacity: 350 MW
- Battery storage capacity: 150 MW/550 MWh
- Expected completion: Late 2024
Upon completion, the Richmond Valley project is expected to generate enough clean energy to power approximately 150,000 homes and offset around 500,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
This project aligns with Australia's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and supports the country's Renewable Energy Target (RET).
